We want everyone to be able to use our webshop easily and independently. That’s why we are continuously working to improve the accessibility of phonelife.eu. On this page, you’ll find information about the current state of the site, known accessibility issues, and how to contact us if you encounter any problems.

How accessible is the website?

We know that phonelife.eu is currently not fully accessible. Several important areas of the site require improvements to function better for users relying on screen readers, magnifiers or keyboard-only navigation. In 2025, we launched a major improvement project and are planning significant updates to both the technical structure and visual design of the site. Our goal is to meet the requirements of WCAG 2.2 levels A and AA.

Report accessibility issues

Your feedback is important to us and helps improve the site. If you discover an issue not listed below, or if you feel we are not meeting accessibility standards, please email us at accessability@phonelife.com.

Known accessibility issues

- Images lack descriptive alt text: This includes buttons, banners, category links and icons, making it difficult for screen readers to interpret content correctly.

- Heading structure is not always logical: Some headings are not semantically marked, which can hinder navigation for screen reader users.

- The site language is not consistently specified in the code: This may affect how screen readers pronounce the text.

- Not all functions are accessible via keyboard: For example, some menus and carousels cannot be operated without a mouse.

- No skip link to main content: Keyboard users often have to tab through the entire menu before reaching the main content.

- Form fields lack proper labelling: For example, the search bar and checkout form fields are not fully accessible to assistive technologies.

- Error messages are unclear or missing: Invalid input fields (e.g., incorrect card number) don’t always provide clear feedback or correction instructions.

- HTML and JavaScript errors: These may interfere with how assistive technologies interpret and navigate the page.

- Text contrast is too low in some areas: For example, over banner images or in information boxes, making the text hard to read.

- Generic link text like "See all" appears without context: Screen reader users may not know where the link leads.

- Focus indicators are missing or weak: It’s not always clear which element is currently focused when navigating via keyboard.

- Icons and buttons lack accessible labels: For instance, the shopping cart and account icons lack aria-labels, making them difficult to interpret using screen readers.

- Moving content has no controls: The banner carousel rotates automatically without giving users the ability to pause or stop it.
